Chico Laser was born in 2013 in the small city of Bolivar, 350 kilometers away from Buenos Aires City, in the middle of the Argentinian farms and fields of the pampa. Three of the band members are from Bolivar: Ramiro Bailiarini (lead voice), Santiago Naya (drums), and Mauro Gonzalez (voice and guitar). The other four members of the band are from Buenos Aires City: Lucia Daniela Diaz (bass and voice), Maria Canale (guitar and voice) Ulises Lopez Langono (trumpet and guitar) and Dario Cimino (synths).
Chico Laser has an eclectic sound that navigates through different sensations and emotions. Our main style could be associated with rock and pop, but there's a constant dialogue with others styles such as blues, funk, punk and folk. We believe our songs have the fusion of the sounds and life in the countryside, in the small village, crossed by the stinging sounds of the big city. Our lyrics talk about our everyday battles, our failed love stories, our blood beating in our bodies and about friendship; because we are also a band of friends.
Chico Laser has a powerful live show. We like to play in places where people can dance and express themselves. Our sound operator is Maximiliano Morales, who is also our musical producer and is present in every recording process. The show has a visual intensity given by the numerous musicians on stage, and by the projected visuals and lights that correspond particularly with each song, done by Manuel Soria, visual artist and photographer of the band.
In the beginnings of 2015 we recorded our first EP (available in chicolaser.bandcamp.com ), in a very independent way and in our home studios. Now we are launching a crowd funding project in idea.me to record our first studio album.
If we don't reach the 100% of the funding goal, we will use it to do the following:
-
