About the project
For three years, David Ángel Gudiño has visited the city of Río Grande, giving seminars to the theater players. In March 2018 Corina Amilcar, Andrea Borda, Renata Moreira and Anüit Sosa participated. In the three days of intensive training we worked on the reality of Rio Grande by exploring the following questions. How are we as a society? What is our reality? What is our history? What are we talking about? What happens to us with the cold and the wind? What does it mean to live on an Island? Based on these questions, it was investigated theatrically. As the experience is so mobilizing. It was decided to carry forward the writing of a work that would reflect the experience, to premiere the following year. This is how "25 Winters" was born. Work that speaks of how we are and we are in this Island. The Argentine philosopher Rodolfo Kush expresses that in Latin America, to inhabit the earth, we not only have to be, but also to be. Our language distinguishes being from being. The theater gives us that possibility, we are in a place and we are what we have, what happens to us, what we live every day in the wind and cold of Patagonia. We hope that this play is the starting point of a production cycle that enables us to generate plays that speak about our reality as Riograndeans.
Who is part of the team?
The actresses of the work are Corina Amilcar, Andrea Borda, Renata Moreira and Anuit Sosa. The scenery and the costumes are in charge of Grabriel Bezus Espinosa. We are accompanied by Virginia Villarejo in the direction assistance and David Ángel Gudiño is in charge of the dramaturgy and direction of the project.
Why are we in Ideame?
It is important for us to be able to include more people in the production of this project. Being a work that talks about Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, we think it is extremely important to open a dialogue with more people who might be interested in collaborating as a cultural producer of our project. It is necessary for us to share all the effort involved in carrying out a work, and being on this platform is also a way to share that effort.
What do we need from the community?
From the whole community we need you to be able to collaborate with our project through the proposals we outline and also share our link, our social networks, talk to your friends about Rio Grande, about what it means to live on an Island, and of course when we premiere in March in Tierra de Teatro we wait for you!
What will we do with the money?
The money that we collect will basically be used in the production of the work. So far we are able to afford the administrative expenses, but for the costs of realizing the senography and costumes it is necessary to raise funds.
If we don't reach the 100% of the funding goal, we will use it to do the following:
With the 10%
We can buy props for the work.
With the 25%
We will cover the rehearsal expenses.
With the 50%
We can cover half the cost of the scenography.
With the 75%
We can buy the costumes and make part of the scenography for the play.
