Nomades Performance and Urban Interventions Festival is a project by artists- Santiago Cao, Luis Eduardo (Lemu) Martínez, Celeste Sánchez Goldar, and Soledad Sánchez Goldar.
It will take place in Río Ceballos, Córdoba, and Buenos Aires -both cities from Argentina-, from October 19 to October 29, 2012, with the participation of 17 Latin American artists (Brazil, Mexico, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, and Ecuador).
Performance Art differs from other artistic disciplines in that the body of the performer is present as a generator of signs and support of the action.
We intend to socialize Performance Art by means of actions in public places in Río Ceballos, and Buenos Aires. We want to promote, from the coexistence of Latin American artists with a variety of works, experiences, and perspectives, the strenghtening of Performance Art in the region, and maximize the networks between festivals and on going projects.

Our project prioritizes the relational aspect before the individual work. That is to say, the interaction between members of the group, as well as the interaction between each person and the context of the actions.
The proposal is to spend five days in Río Ceballos and five days in Buenos Aires, living together and sharing everyday experiences transformed and enriched by the encounter of persons and the development of actions, hoping to open a new place for dialogue between the participants, the cities, and their inhabitants.
In this way, each participant will have the oportunity to propose actions that dialogue with places, cultures, and rutines that are so different from each other, such as Buenos Aires –urban place of a big city, with the implications of comunication between its inhabitants-, and Río Ceballos, a small city on the hills area.
In addition to performances and urban interventions, we propose open discussions and encounters
with several artists from each city, as a way to create bonds beyond the festival.
In that sense, we present Nómades as a fraternal platform for collaboration and diffusion between artists and their cities, in order to promote and strengthen the network that allready exists in Latin America.
