"Verba Volant, scripta manent"
Words fly with the wind, writings remain.
-----
I am a designer.
I am an illustrator.
I love to draw text.
Once somebody asked me what inspired me. I made a list but I should have mentioned the texts that I selected for the exhibition "Lo que el viento me dejó" ("What I was left by the wind") at Plop! Gallery, Santiago de Chile, during last May. I selected short texts by William Morris, Maria Elena Walsh, Violeta Parra, Maurice Maeterlinck, John Lennon and Sei Shônagon. I drew and made silkscreen with them.
The book that I am presenting to you is about the creative process behind this project. It’s sharing ideas, sketches and pictures of objects and places that inspired it. A very intimate and personal project I made with the publishing house Flanbé.

"Lo que el viento me dejó" ("What I was left by the wind") is a limited edition of 200 copies signed and numbered.
Let me describe some technical aspects:
Pages: 68
Format: 148 x 210 mm (5.8 x 8.2 inches)
Cover: Natural Evolution Ivory Paper 300gr
Interior: White Paper Work Chambril 150gr
Out of the 200 books of this edition already sold out the first 100. What I look for this time is to produce the remaining 100.
Among the rewards can select the prints that are part of the exhibition: 8 lettering illustration of the selected texts. The reason for this book.
You can also get a special silkscreen: the one which gives the name to the project: "Lo que el viento me dejó" ("What I was left by the wind").

The same silkscreen is in another reward: a beautiful box that also contains the book. It's part of a very limited edition of 10 copies.

Finally, in case anyone is left with the desire to have it, you can purchase the book "Cuatro gatos negros flacos" ("Four skinny black cats") our previous project realized thanks to the crowdfunding in Idea.me.
