About the Project
The First International Witold Gombrowicz Conference focuses on the life and work of this eccentric and brilliant Polish writer who spent 23 years exiled in Argentina.
There will be over 50 speakers from 16 countries, as well as theater perfomances, a documentary, a guided tour and an exhibition of 40 illustrators inspired by his writing, on view during the conference, which will be held in the Mariano Moreno National Library of Buenos Aires from August 7 to 9, 2014.
What we want is to bring together these 40 images in a shocking, high-quality art book, collectible and ideal for fetishistics and style-lovers.
But who was Witold Gombrowicz?
One of the most provocative, important, funny and influential avant-garde writers of the 20th century.
(quotation to go with image: “Art, above all, is a question of love; to know an artist’s true position, we should ask: what does he love?”)
Who will participate on the book?
What will the book be like?
