Hello! My name is Ramiro Chaves and I´m a photographer. I was born in Córdoba, Argentina, but it´s been ten years since I´m living in Mexico. My family is native from towns nearby Laguna de Mar Chiquita and I spent a lot of unforgettable moments there, times that marked me for life.
The project is called "Miramar" and my intention is to exhibit 25 color photos within a public space of Miramar´s town during December of 2012.
Since 2006, I started to develop this project every time that I come back to Argentina. Like that, this work has become in a beautiful excuse to be able to stay in touch with this fascinating place, and at the same time, with a deep part of what I am: to return to my origins.
This series was made during a lot of journeys to Laguna de Mar Chiquita and it documents intriguing natural and architectonic landscapes of Miramar´s surroundings. I intent to rediscover this familiar space, where my sensibility and vision of the world were shaped. Carrying out this show is to consolidate a bridge between what I was and what I am. To showcase these images in their context is a way to pay homage to the influence this scenery have had during my development as an artist and as a person. I´d want to share my look with the people of Miramar and its surroundings. I´m also certain that this exhibition will have a positive impact within the region´s cultural scene growth.
In order to execute the show, I need the funds to print the photos in a professional quality format, which will be exposed within a public space in Miramar´s locality on December of 2012.
