Cooking the Continent (www.cookingthecontinent.tv) is a collective work that has been developing this trip as a joint initiative of 5 people. As a team we set out the duties of investigating the culinary world from an integral and multidisciplinary perspective. Our mission is to shape an audio-visual documentary that records the processes related to food from the production, going through the distribution and consumption. So we’ve been travelling around this continent, recording traditional kitchens, local markets, family meals and food production on a local scale, also with street food and culinary experts in each country. The project began 3 years ago when we started to work very hard with the goal of saving money to achieve our dream. We are an independent filmmaking collective and everything that we had spent until today, comes from our exhausted pockets. We bought a car, fixed it up, and started the journey. We’ve been travelling for more than 5 months, crossing 7 countries to date. We started in the middle of Chile, went up north, crossed into Bolivia, then Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, and now we are in Brazil. To finish the project we still have to go through 4 countries. Everything is been great, except for the fact that our car has broken way more than expected, and one of our cameras has been stolen. That’s why we need your help, we need the money to fix our car so we can finish the trip, buy a camera that was stolen during this period, and to be able to fund the production expenses for the last 2 months of the journey and finance post productions stage: editing the pilot for a 10 - 12 episode show, expenses to fund the first stage of the photography exhibition and the layout of a recipe book. We’re really count on your support to achieve our objective, show it on screen, and share with the world all the wonders we have found in South America.
